The Concert Series Committee cordially invites you to come to our final concert of the 2017-2018 Concert Series. On FRIDAY, APRIL 6, at 7:30 PM, we will welcome the LEBANON VALLEY COLLEGE MARIMBA ENSEMBLE.
The five-member ensemble consists of two students, two former students, and the director, Robert Nowak. The ensemble has been performing for the past 15 years, with different personnel each year, and presents two concerts a year.
Performing in this concert will be Megan Ebling, a Lebanon Valley graduate who received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Recording Technology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Percussion Performance; Travis Hicks, also an LVC graduate, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Recording Technology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz Studies, and a Master of Music in Music Education; Casey Proctor is a senior at LVC and a graduate of Central Dauphin High School; Jordan Woodward, a freshman Music Education and Percussion Performance major at LVC; and their director, Robert Nowak, a member of the Music Faculty at Lebanon Valley College.
Their repertoire for this concert will be a selection of mostly classical music arranged for marimbas. Some examples might be: “Pilgrim’s Chorus” from “Tannhauser” by Wagner, “Air” and “Allegro” from Handel’s “Water Music”, “Air for the G String” by Bach, Selections from “Gayane Ballet” by Kachaturian, and many more. It promises to be a sometimes lively, sometimes quiet, and always interesting concert! We hope you will come out to see and hear what marimba music is all about!
As with all the APPLAUSE…MEMORABLE MUSIC concerts, there will be a Reception afterwards with lots of goodies prepared by Ann Ormond and friends. It is always a nice time of fellowship and an opportunity to greet the performers.
